Anna update

Hot off the presses (well really I just got off the phone)…

Anna’s liver looks wonderful.  Does not show any damage at all! YEA!!  They were able to get 3 samples of her liver and those results will be a week or so but the ultrasound told what we needed to hear.  She is lookin’ good!!  The vet is going to research this more to see if there is any new findings since this is not a common thing.

Thanks for all the doggie prayers!  We appreciate it.

Monday, so soon?

The weekend seems to have flown by – whhooosh!!

Had a  good weekend with the step kids, oh they want to spend the summer with us.  Before you get all gleeful and stuff remember that I am not used to it and I don’t adapt to change well at all which makes me very scared.  I think I will do okay but still I am scared.  But not in a bad way.  Lots of mixed feelings lots of details to work out.  Lots of unknowns and you know how much I hate the unknown!!  Tell me it will be okay.

I did pick out some groovy new glasses on Friday.  They should be here in about a week or so.  They are Kate Spade frames – how cool is that!?  Still trying to polish my image!!

Anna has her liver biopsy on Tuesday (tomorrow).  Any doggie-prayers or karma is appreciated.  She is not keen on the vitamin I give her so I put it in a blob of pumpkin puree and it seems to make it all better for her – she is such a pumpkin whore!!

I got back 1 response today on my alumni function.  That gives me hope!  Maybe people will come (fingers crossed).

I start back with the personal trainer this Friday.  I am excited about getting back into the swing of working out!!

We saw “Monsters versus Aliens” on Saturday.  It was great.  Great for all ages.  4 adults and kids ages 11, 13, 15, 16 & 17 and every one had a great time.  A must see of anyone.

My basketball bracket took a beating this weekend so I guess I am done.  OU did a good job! Boomer Sooner!!

Busy busy busy

This is the start of my very busy next few week.  Here is a recap.

Last weekend with the kids went fine.  Hubby’s birthday was fun.  Good time had by all.

Tuesday I did the Junior Achievement bowl a thon.  Man, I suck at bowling. I bowled a 60 and struggled for that!  But it was fun.

Thursday was Anna vet appointment.  She has Doberman Hepatitis.  This is a building of copper in the liver.  They have only known about it since the 1980’s and it was found by accident.  She is not sick (she is subclinical) and with vitamins we should be able to keep it from progressing any further.  She is 9 1/2 and the vet thinks she has a few more healthy years left.  They are going to schedule her for a liver biopsy next week to confirm and assess the damage.  The outlook is pretty good and it could have been much worse.

Today I get my eyes checked and hopefully new glasses.  I need a fresh new look.

The step kids are coming this week (regularaly scheduled weekend) so it will be go go go again.  I really would like to rest rest and rest.

Next week is busy busy busy again.  My alumni function is in full swing now and only 3 weeks away.  Geez what if no one shows up!!  What am I going to wear?

Still here

You know I wouldn’t leave you.

Last weekend was pretty uneventful.  We puttered around town.  It was cold so we just hurried around.  I did get a few new work clothes from Kohl’s.  I am trying to polish my image at work.

Work is very slow which makes for some very long days but I am thankful for the job that I have.

Watched “Leatherheads” on Wednesday.  It was so-so.  Nothing I would recommend.  The kids are coming this weekend since they have not been here in 5 weeks.  It is hubby’s birthday weekend so we are going to lunch with friends and cake and ice cream at the house.  I got a really cool Vol’s checkerboard cake.

My sister finally called.  I had not heard from her since December 26!  We will be going to West Virginia for my nephew’s first communion the first weekend in May.

I am full speed ahead on the alumni group.  We are meeting April 18 and even some folks from the university are coming.  I am so excited.  April is booked solid for me with hubby being gone on his mission trip and various and assorted whatnots.  Plus throw Easter in there!

I have a  work bowling function next week and I am getting my eyes checked and some new updated glasses (again with the polished look).  I am trying to get back into shape because my annual physical is in 3 weeks and I want to show improvement!

Are you doing the college basketball stuff?  I am.  I think it is a blast.  We go to Dave & Busters at lunch and watch the games and work on our brackets.  Go Sooners!!

Spring is finally here! Yea, I am tired of cold and gloomy!  Bring on the sunshine!!

I still am not real hip on the whole Facebook thing.  Found out from a friend that hubby’s ex wife is on facebook.  Oh yea.  I think Facebook opens up a pandora box that I don’t want to go to.  I am sporatic at best so if you are a facebook “friend”  I am a little slow at it and love me anyway!

Birthday shout out

Happy birthday week to Andi at www.offhercork.com  Go visit her and tell her happy b-day week!!

I wish I knew how to say click here and it inserted the link but no one has told me how.  Humm and you call me your friend!!

Nothing personal

I know I have been slow about posting – please forgive it is nothing personal.

Friday I picked up my car from the body shop and it was clean happy and fixed.  YEA!

Worked on the Habitat for Humanity house all day Saturday and I was wiped out.  Remembered to move clocks up 1 hour Saturday night.

Had lunch with the in-laws on Sunday (good thing I came from church).  They irk me but I deal with them – they could be worse. Put the house back in order on Sunday.

Monday was back to the ole grind stone at work.  Things are still quiet and I am sure there will be more cuts just don’t know when.  Looks like the hostile take over has been diverted which is a good thing. Took the dog for a walk after work – those are good for both of us!

Going to a Mary Kay party tonight.  I would rather not but it is a courtesy obligation so I will.  Hubby gets to go to a Pred’s hockey game tonight.

SKs are scheduled here this weekend and I really want to take myself shopping.  We will see what kind of mood I am in on Saturday.

Found out today that Southwest Airlines no longer flies from Nashville to Tulsa.  Now, how does Southwest expect me to get home?  This puts a major kink in my little world.

Hubby’s work is still the same and no extra hours.

I have been busy working on the alumni stuff and should have more of it done by tomorrow.  Why are people slow about calling me back – that drives me bananas!!

I have been to my facebook page a few times.  Not real into it.  Maybe it is just me but at night the LAST thing I want to do is be any where near a computer.

Near…far…

March is already here.  Hubby’s birthday is in less than 3 weeks so I need to get crackin’ on that.  He is not a big party person so it will probably be low key.

We went home to Oklahoma last weekend to surprise my aunt.  It was her 75th birthday.  She looks great and was so happy to see us.  It was a long drive but worth it (11 hours each way!).  On the way home we did a quick stop to visit one of my friends so that was nice.  I only get to see her about once a year so it was great!!

Work is work is work.

I am still not 100% sold on the whole Facebook thing.  Drunkbunny gave me some good tips and I will work on those this week.

Got my taxes finished this week – getting a refund which is rare for me and I am so very happy.  Hubby had a fender bender in my car on Friday and I was livid to say the least! So this week my car is in the shop and I have a rental.

So it has been a normal life around here.  Doing a Habitat for Humanity house build on Saturday and if you haven’t done one – they are a good thing but you will be exhausted by the end of the day.  Hubby is going with me so that should make it more fun!
