Friday was stay home, put on sweats and order pizza kind of night.  It was nice.  Feel asleep early!

Slept in on Saturday.  Then hubby and I hit the ground running.  We got our must do errands taken care of, then some need to do errands then we  steam cleaned the carpets in the house and cleaned the house.  It was nice to have that out of the way.  In between all of that we watched lots of football!

Sunday after noon (after a much loved nap!) we started our Christmas shopping.  We are just about done.  I have 2 gift cards to pick up tonight then we are finished. Still no decorations at the house and I am fine with that! 

It was so nice having hubby all weekend as he was supposed to be gone with watch the step kids in a Christmas parade then bring them back to our house.  I was so not wanting company at the house.  So it was nice to have time to get some stuff done.

Tomorrow is the book signing event with The Pioneer Woman.  I am so very excited.  My friend Carrie and I are making an event out of it.  We are in Group 5 (there are 25 per group) so we are going to eat at Cheesecake Factory first then so stand in line.  I have a few Nashville gifts for Ree.  It will be so much fun.  Can’t wait.

I wish the craziness of Christmas was not here.  It puts me in such a funk.  Too many things in too short of time.  I forgot all about Christmas cards which is so not like me but that is not a life and death issue.  The older I get the more I understand that.  I will get minimum cards out by this weekend and no one will burst into flames – if they do – opps!

I am going to The Pioneer Woman’s cookbook signing next Tuesday (12/8) and this seems the be the highlight of my existance right now.  To be around another Okie just makes me squeal!!  Her cookbook is so wonderfully written I just wish I had some open time to test some recipes!

We did make the 12 hour trek to Oklahoma to see my aunt and family for Thanksgiving and it was wonderfully peaceful.  Hubby got to have Cracker Barrel in the morning and all the traditional and not so traditional food for dinner.  It was fun. 

Anna is doing well.  She is thin and slow some days but don’t tell the squirrels or the birds because she still gives them the what for on a daily basis. 

The last Netflix we watched was “61″ about Roger Maris and it was really good.  It took us a month to watch it!! 

So, tell me what your Christmas wish is?  For me to stop whinning all the time?  For schedules to be less crazy?  For a new camera or gadget?  I love to hear others views for the holidays.

I brought rolls to the pot luck dinner at work.  I didn’t eat any but they looked tasty. 

Tomorrow (Wednesday) we leave for the very long drive to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. But I am excited to spend the holiday with my family in all our whackyness and see my friends.  Anna is coming with us us to it should be fun for all. 

Somethings only happen to me.  It is like I have a big dark cloud that looms over head. 

Last month I received a letter from our friend – the IRS!!  They said I filed taxes twice.  I like them but not enough to file twice.  I had my accountant write and letter and went skipping on my way.  Go last night I received another letter from the IRS — seems that someone is trying to file taxes as me and trying to receive a refund.  How kind of them! Arrgh!!  So now I have to go down to the Social Security Administration and make sure I am only employeed at where I am truly employed.  I went ahead and got ID theft protection from the bank for all of my credit cards even though I check my credit on a regular basis.  And the IRS will put a theft protection flag on my tax id number (SSN). 

This is so frustrating.  I do appreciate the IRS for taking proactive steps and helping me out.  Who ever is filing this information is using my maiden name also.  Hopefully nothing bad will result from all of this and hopefully they will catch the SOB who did this.

I know I have only a very few readers BUT weren’t you guys supposed to be giving me potluck ideas?  I have one on Sunday at church and one on Tuesday at work. 

I am lost for ideas.

Sorry I have not written in a while. It is nothing personal really!! Nothing to write about or I am too lazy to write it down.

I do need your help.  We are having a pot luck on Tuesday 11/24 and I don’t know what to bring.  These things are always so hard.  So please send me your ideas and make them easy peasy for me. 

Hubby is fine.  The step kids are fine.  Had a blow up with hubby on Friday about SD#1 (she wanted to come on an off weekend and we both had been sick all week).  I stood firm and all was fine after a while.  No injuries or drama. 

Work is fine.  Work is work is work.  Anna is doing fine.  She is slowing down except to chase the squirrels or rabbits. 

I am still trying to cook more often.  Last night was my dedicated night to cook.  I made chili, tuna casserole and biscuits and sausage.  That should last a few days.

Hubby is taking the step kids out of town this weekend so I have the house to my self for some much needed me time.

We are going to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving to visit my family. I am really exicted about that.

I am so sorry I have been  slow about posting. 

I will do a quick recap. 

2 weekends ago SD#2 came and stayed the weekend.  It was a good time had by all.  I was quite bummed at first because I really wanted some hubby alone time but I know in the long run it is best for them.  He does love me , but just a little dense sometimes about how to show it.  Bless his heart.  He has been working so hard on that in the last few weeks and we should give him props for that!

Last week was winding down on all the busyness.  The YoungLife banquet was Tuesday night so that is done for the next 6 months.  Check that off our list. 

This weekend SD#1 came.  Again a good time had by all.  I made an awesome (easy) taco soup Saturday night.  I am working on getting back into the swing of cooking again.  I have really missed it. 

Ms.  Anna has not been feeling quite well.  Her liver is inflamed and that can’t feel too good.  I am going to meet with the  vet on Tuesday (tomorrow) to see what the next plan of action is. 

Wednesday I have a hair appointment to get it trimmed and colored.  I really like the light highlightes in it. 

Not sure if any of the SDs are coming this coming weekend.  I feel bad because they really don’t want to go back home but they are of the age now where they have to petition the judge to move.  They know they are always welcome at our house no matter what age. 

No movies watched this weekend because we watched football and I went to bed at 7pm on Sunday and slept all night.  I guess my body was tired. 

All else is good and any drama has settled down.

So I survived the week with the step kids.  They had a great time and were sad to go back.  They know they are always welcome at our house.  They said they couldn’t leave their mom but they know all the mean stuff she has done to us.

I slept all day Saturday except for during the OU/Texas game.  Saturday night we went to hubby’s 25th high school reunion.  What a waste of $75 !  I still can’t figure out what the money was for.  The invitation say Hor De Vours so we ate before and they served…burritos!!  Unless you BYOB then you had coke or bottled water to drink.  No one talked to me so it was a long long evening! 

Sunday hubby had to work and I slept until 11am.  Needless to say I missed church!  I just lounged the bulk of the day.  I slowly began to put my house back together.  I had to much to clean and clutter than needed to be picked up.  Ohh how I hate clutter. 

Monday I found a lizard living in the bonus room.  Tuesday hubby recolated said lizard.  He was trying to come downstairs and that was not part of the agreement!!   Luckily for me most things have been cancelled this week so that has given me time to recoup from my sinus infection. 

Saturday I am hosting my alumni function.  I have only a very few attending.  It is sad how much work I put in to this and how few are going to attend!  But I understand that people are busy.  We are always busy it seems.

Next Tuesday we have our Young Life banquet.  We invited a lot of folks so I am hoping they will show.  It drives me nuts when people don’t RSVP!!  Grrr. 

I have not felt much like cooking so nothing to report there. 

Anna is doing okay.  Work is okay.

Watched “Love and Mary” on Netflix.  It was good (I gave it a 3 out of 5).  I don’t think there was cussing but a few sexual references.  I have Gran Torino waiting to watch.  Maybe Friday night!!

I knew you could not wait to hear the drama that won’t seem to stop.

The step kids did NOT want to go home until Friday so hubby told PEW she would get them back on Friday.  She was non too happy but who really cares.  So the kids are staying until Friday. I told hubby not to accept any calls from PEW.

The IRS sent me a letter something about my taxes.  Not real sure what it is so I gave it to “my tax guy” to take care of.  See – this is why I have a “tax guy” this stuff happens to me!! 

I have a cold/sinus thing.  No since in staying home since the kids are there so I will suffer through a few more days of work until the weekend comes and I can regain normalicy (whatever that is!).
