Party like a rock star

Thursday SD2 went to her dentist appointment. She has 9 cavities!  Oh my goodness.  So for 2 days of her 2 week spring break she will be getting her teeth fixed.  She was not mad or upset but she understood that it needed to get done and I didn’t want her to miss 2 full days of school.  So Thursday was not so much fun.

Friday I stayed home to do party prep and man I was busy.  I picked SD2 up from school and then 1 of her friends showed up at the house.  We went to have pizza while we waited for the other 2 friends.  After everyone arrived we went to the hotel. The girls had a huge suite and hubby and I were in the room next door.  The girls swam in the pool while hubby and I decorated the party room.  We told the girls that they could not leave the hotel and we didn’t want to hear a sound and we went to bed.  We did not hear any noise and they were really good.  They did stay up until 3am but that is what slumber parties are all about!!

Saturday was the big shing ding!  SD2 was excited as were hubby and I.  I finished last minute party details while hubby took the girls to Starbucks and Target.  It was like herding cats he said but fun all the same!  The party was just wonderful and SD2 had a wonderful time.  About 40 people showed up so it was a good crowd.  When the party was over and we unpacked all our stuff we all were in bed by 8pm on a Saturday night.

Sunday was the Super Bowl so I had about 10 friends over to watch and help me get the leftover food gone.  We had a blast and it was the first time SD2 got to watch the Super Bowl with us.  She has a great time.

Monday was her actual 16th birthday and hubby picked her up from school.  We went to eat then I took her to get shoes!  She found 3 pair that we both liked for her.  Shoes for a 16 year old are not easy because I don’t want her to wear tall heels to school and she won’t wear sneakers so she wears her Spearys almost every day and they are getting warn.  She has 2 pair but it gets a little old.  She found some cute short boots on clearance then 2 pair of spring shoes.

Our calendars are so busy and lots of new and firsts. This week we have parent/teacher conferences and no one has ever gone to one for her.  I am looking forward to going.

So it is busy busy busy but I am having a blast!!

Every post you put up here makes me cry. It is like this child is adopted from another family. Oh how I wish she had been able to move in with you and Chip sooner so she could have had less time in a house where she was last on the priority list instead of first (actually I’m not sure she was on the list at all at her mother’s house).

How is Chip not fuming? She should not have 9 cavities…probably wouldn’t if someone would have used her insurance and taken her to the dentist. She should have had a parent come to school to find out how she’s doing at some point in her life. Grr… I’m mad and its not even my child.
