The past week was mostly uneventful which is a good thing.
Monday – nothing! I worked out and it felt so good. I am trying to get my distance up because my first 5k of this year is March 24.
Tuesday (Valentines Day) my work gave me hockey tickets in the suite so me, hubby and SD2 went. She enjoys hockey games even though she doesn’t understand the game. It is not hard – put puck in net. It was a fun night.
Wednesday was church as usual. She loves staying busy.
Thursday we went to a 31 party and she wanted a few new things in the new patterns which happen to be her favorite color – yellow.
Friday was the end of a busy week. I washed clothes and made sandwiches for dinner. We all hung out and just vegged. I think everyone was asleep before 9pm. We live the life of rock stars!
Saturday was SD2 first counseling visit. The 3 of us had a 2 hour block so our counselor could be with all of us, with just me and hubby, with just SD2 then a wrap up with all of us. A lot of accomplished and that was good. SD2 liked our guy and seemed open to going back. At first she was not as her mom had made her believe that only bad kids go to counseling. I told her that counseling give us skills to deal with unhealthy people in our lives in a healthy way.
This weeks whirlwind tour includes meeting with the attorney on Tuesday do discuss limiting visits with the PEW for SD2.
Wednesday SD2 takes her driver’s exam and Anna goes to get her fatty tumors taken off. Thursday I hopefully will be getting new tires on my car. Again – living the dream. We have a girls conference this weekend for both me and SD2 and I think it will be a good time.
Movie reviews: Went to see “The Vow” on Saturday. It was okay. I will give it a 3. Watched “Post Grad” from Netflix on Sunday and I will give it a 3 also. Both were good but not great – rent if you want to see either.
Sunday I meal planned some. I cooked some sausage and biscuits for breakfast on Sunday and Monday. I put a pot of chili in the crock pot and ate that Sunday night for dinner. I made some blueberry muffins for breakfast for a few days and Monday early am I made smothered steak for SD2 to put in the over for dinner on Monday. I love when I have time to meal plan and make a few things.
For Lent this year I am giving up wants. Things that I don’t need but spoil myself with. SD2 reminded me that this includes pedicures. Yes it will but it will also be more economical and healthier for me. It will remind me what I need and what I want. It will encourage me to meal plan more and splurge less. To do without when I can.
Party like a rock star

Thursday SD2 went to her dentist appointment. She has 9 cavities! Oh my goodness. So for 2 days of her 2 week spring break she will be getting her teeth fixed. She was not mad or upset but she understood that it needed to get done and I didn’t want her to miss 2 full days of school. So Thursday was not so much fun.
Friday I stayed home to do party prep and man I was busy. I picked SD2 up from school and then 1 of her friends showed up at the house. We went to have pizza while we waited for the other 2 friends. After everyone arrived we went to the hotel. The girls had a huge suite and hubby and I were in the room next door. The girls swam in the pool while hubby and I decorated the party room. We told the girls that they could not leave the hotel and we didn’t want to hear a sound and we went to bed. We did not hear any noise and they were really good. They did stay up until 3am but that is what slumber parties are all about!!
Saturday was the big shing ding! SD2 was excited as were hubby and I. I finished last minute party details while hubby took the girls to Starbucks and Target. It was like herding cats he said but fun all the same! The party was just wonderful and SD2 had a wonderful time. About 40 people showed up so it was a good crowd. When the party was over and we unpacked all our stuff we all were in bed by 8pm on a Saturday night.
Sunday was the Super Bowl so I had about 10 friends over to watch and help me get the leftover food gone. We had a blast and it was the first time SD2 got to watch the Super Bowl with us. She has a great time.
Monday was her actual 16th birthday and hubby picked her up from school. We went to eat then I took her to get shoes! She found 3 pair that we both liked for her. Shoes for a 16 year old are not easy because I don’t want her to wear tall heels to school and she won’t wear sneakers so she wears her Spearys almost every day and they are getting warn. She has 2 pair but it gets a little old. She found some cute short boots on clearance then 2 pair of spring shoes.
Our calendars are so busy and lots of new and firsts. This week we have parent/teacher conferences and no one has ever gone to one for her. I am looking forward to going.
So it is busy busy busy but I am having a blast!!
They call her lumpy

So I noticed what looks to be a stye in Anna’s eye. I looked it over and she was not in pain but I knew it needed to be checked.
I sent hubby to take her to the vet yesterday since he was off that day. He took her in and the vet agreed that it looked like a cyst or a stye that is being stubborn. Then hubby asked about the fatty tumors she has on her shoulder and lower belly. The one on her shoulder is really big but the other vet (her liver specialist) said it was just fat. The liver specialist and the old vet look a biopsy of the tumor and they would like to see it gone since it has some pre cancerious looking cells.
So.. on February 22 Anna will have her eye lump drained and her 2 lumps of fat removed.
The vets are checking with some other specialist to make sure nothing they do will compromise her liver in any way.
So my sweet lumpyness will be all nice and smooth by the end of this month.
Puppy prayers are all appreciated as you know I will be a little nervous while she is having the work done. Good thing I will be at work all day!!
